Why: To educate and increase awareness of early prevention and detection of breast cancer.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The pink ribbon will be visible virtually everywhere to remind men and women to raise awareness about breast cancer. The Valley Isle Community FCU, in conjunction with the Maui Memorial Medical Center and other credit unions on Maui, will be doing our part to help. During the month of October, we'll be selling the Pink CD, a 2009 Na Hoku Hanohano Award Nominee for special credit union discount price of just $12. Proceeds from the sales will be used towards continued education of this disease and to pay for mammograms for women here on Maui who have no insurance coverage.
